In this page you may find useful documents to better understand the rules of the APE-EES and to join the parents association if you are willing to help.

We need your support so please consider, either yourself or your spouse, to join the parents association and its members' board.

Responsibilities

President and Vice President

This is a key position on the Committee. Without the President, the association cannot function. The President supervises all the activities of the association and ensures that the decisions of the board are carried out. The President works closely with the Treasurer.

This position requires a time commitment of approximately 10 hours per month and a good command of French.

 

Main activities:

- To legally represent the APE, to ensure that laws and regulations are respected.

- Ensure the functioning of the association, chair the general assemblies and the meetings of the Executive Committee.

- Act as arbitrator in decisions and conflicts within the Board.

- Participate in the following committees (to name only the main ones):

- EES Board (Board of Directors)

- Primary and secondary representative parent assemblies

- Regular meetings between the APE / after school service providers

- Represents the APE on CAPEA

Secretary and Deputy Secretary

This is a key position in the CD, without the secretary the association cannot function properly.

It requires a time commitment of about five hours per month, including the monthly CD meeting.

A good command of French is necessary.

 

Main activities:

The Secretary works closely with the President

-organises meetings (General Assembly, CD meetings)

- drafts and distributes agendas, minutes of meetings and reports

- writes all correspondence at the request of the President and sends it out

- keeps an up-to-date list of members with the Treasurer

- keeps an up-to-date list of decisions taken at meetings

- archives the association's documents

Treasurer

It is a key position in the Committee, without the Treasurer the Association cannot function.

It requires a commitment of about ten hours per month, including the monthly CD meeting.

A good command of French is necessary.

Some basic accounting knowledge is required (income statements, balance sheets).

A good knowledge of Excel is necessary.

​Main activitities:

- Managing the association's cash flow.

- Liaising with with the after-school service provider.

- Collecting membership fees.

- Preparing the annual accounts and financial report.

CD member

The Executive Committee members are the elected representatives of the members of the association and are available to listen to and support school parents.

A CD member's workload and time commitment depends on the working groups he/she participates in and the tasks he/she performs (participation in the Administrative Board, etc.) and the projects he/she wishes to carry out. A rough guide would be five hours per month, including the monthly SC meeting.
 

​Main activities:

A CD member

- Elects the President, Treasurer and Secretary of the APE.

- Actively participates in and contributes ideas and involvement in projects at CD meetings.

- Votes on the deliberations of the CD.

- Plays an active role in the work of the association (organisation of the general assembly, participation in events - festivities).

- Plays an active role in the different bodies of the school where the CD is involved (board of directors and other bodies).
